Born from a blend of Italian and Sicilian roots, the Cataldo family has alveys had a passion for bringing people together through food. Gerald Cataldo, a seasoned entrepreneur with a background in sales and previous restaurant ownership, has dreamed for years of sharing authentic Italian flavors & family recipes. After years of travel around Cincinnati and a deep connection to the area, he's proud to make that dream a reality in Hamilton, Ohio.

Joining Gerald on this journey is his son, Mateo Cataldo, who was born in the beautiful city of Annecy, France. Mateo brings a fresh perspective and a deep passion for Authentic Pizza. Trained as a pizzaiolo by the renowned Gabriele Bonci, Mateo is committed to serving authentic, handcrafted pizza that embodies the spirit of Italy.

The name Casa Nonna Piccolo honors Gerald & Mateo's Sicilian roots, specifically his beloved grandmother, Nonna Piccolo, whose recipes have been passed down through the generations.

The name Piccolo also holds specific meaning — it was the name of her talking Myna Bird, which you'll find represented in our logo. Many of the recipes on our menu come from Nonna Piccolo herself, bringing the rich, comforting tastes of Sicily and her kitchen directly to your table.
